Acne Products That Are Well Known

There are many over the counter acne products available. These are all designed to either stop acne from occurring, or help with the acne that is active. Acne occurs when the Sebaceus gland that produces oil for the skin, gets clogged in hair follicles. A pimple will then result. People with acne have too much of a bacteria called Propionibacterium. This bacteria feeds off of the oil secreted by the Sebaceus gland; and this in turn causes white blood cells to go to try and fight the over production of bacteria. This then makes the skin red and swollen.

Acne products that can help keep the pores from becoming clogged and stop the initial process of acne usually contain Benzoyl Peroxide. This can be found in products such as Clearasil. It is made to help keep the face clean and the pores from becoming dirty.

Two acne products that have a similar purpose are Salicyclic Acid and Alpha Hydroxy. Both of these products are designed to peel the top layer of skin off. This helps to remove the acne. These acne products can be found in moisturizers, eye ceam and even sunscreen.

There are some natural oils that are also considered acne products. These include Tee Tree Oil; this will help kill the bacteria that cause the acne to form. Additional oils that can be used and are helpful are Bergamon Oil, Lavendr Oil and Rosewood Oil. Use all oils by following directions. Most are diluted with water and then sprayed onto the affected area.

Prescription acne products need to be discussed with a doctor. Sometimes, oral medications are prescribed to help fight the bacteria problem. Other anti-biotic acne products may also be prescribed in a gel for to be placed directly on the acne. These medications can only be prescribed by a doctor. If home treatments do not seem to be making an improvement, a visit to your health care provider may be recommended.

Acne products can be found in almost any store. Read all labels and make sure to follow directions to not only get the best result from the acne products, but also, to prevent any complications.
